Vivid Memoirs of Memorable Moments

Photographs that feel like the day itself

Not only the big moments. Also your mother's hands, your father's wet eyes during the speech, and the glance you share when no one is looking.

What I photograph

Civil and church weddings

The quiet hand trembling a little. The "I do". The rice outside. I know the rhythm of a Danish ceremony and I use it: while the organ plays, nobody is looking at the photographer, and that is when the best pictures of your family happen. The party afterwards is part of the day if you want it covered.

Hindu and Tamil weddings

From the morning rituals to the thali moment. I know the ceremonies, the auspicious time and the pace, so no sacred moment is lost. You choose whether I am there for the whole day or only the ceremony. If the reception falls on its own day, I cover both.

Engagement and portraits

A walk by the water before the wedding, or the family portrait you have postponed for three years. It takes one to three hours, and if you do not have a place in mind, I will suggest one. Many couples use an engagement session to get used to the camera before the big day.

Brana, the photographer behind Vivid Memoir

that's me. come say hi

Hi, I'm Brana

My name is actually Branavan. I was born and raised in Denmark with Tamil roots, which I love just as much as my Danish ones. I have always been drawn to adventure and greener landscapes, and I bring the same curiosity with me when I photograph.

I have been photographing since 2014 and running my own business since 2020, and that has added up to more than 50 weddings, from town halls and churches to Hindu ceremonies. Along the way I have developed my eye alongside some of the world's finest wedding photographers. For you, that means I know both the silence of the church and the hum of the morning rituals, and I know when to step forward and when to simply let the moment happen. We always start with a video call, so we know each other long before the big day.

For the big days there are two of us behind the camera, so the rituals, the guests and the small moments are all captured. Either way, you always have me.

We couldn’t have wished for a better photographer than Vivid Memoir for our wedding and reception! … He made us feel safe and helped us relax, so the photos turned out completely natural and full of joy.

On the wedding day itself, Branavan and his second photographer were wonderfully pleasant, professional and, not least, calm. … I am especially happy that the team captured the mood, the emotions and the atmosphere of both the Hindu ceremony and the civil ceremony.

The whole experience with Vivid Memoir was professional, and we felt in safe hands throughout the process. … We had our photos just a month and a half later and are very happy with the results.

When the day rushes by. When the guests have gone home. When the years go by. Then it's the photographs that bring you back.

Hold the day in your hands

A gallery is lovely, but there is something special about turning the pages of a real book. I make handmade lay-flat albums where every spread lies flat, so the photos never disappear into the fold. You choose your 200 favourites, and I design the layout.

  • Velour, textile or eco-leather, over 10 colours
  • A personalised cover with your names or a photo
  • Up to 40 pages in a large format (40 × 30 cm)

Questions I get a lot

Where in Denmark do you photograph?

All of Denmark, from Copenhagen to Aalborg. Travel is included for the first 30 km from Kolding. Beyond that it's charged per kilometre, plus any bridge or ferry costs. You always get the full amount stated in the quote. For very early starts (before 5 a.m.) in Jutland or weddings across several days, we arrange accommodation separately.

Who covers our event?

It is always me personally who photographs your day, unless we have agreed otherwise in advance. So you get the photographer you met and talked to. For big days I sometimes bring a second photographer, but we always agree on that with you first.

Do you know the Hindu ceremonies?

Yes, and it is one of the reasons couples choose me. I grew up with the traditions myself and know when the thali moment comes, what the auspicious time means for the schedule, and which rituals must not be missed. You should not have to explain your own culture to your photographer.

We are not used to being photographed

Almost nobody is. My style is documentary, so I observe more than I direct. For the portraits I guide you gently with small prompts instead of stiff posing, and most couples forget the camera after ten minutes.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book 6 to 12 months ahead, and popular Saturdays from May to September go first. Write anyway, because sometimes there is a gap in the calendar at shorter notice.

How do we book, and how do we pay?

Your day is reserved once the 25% deposit is paid, by MobilePay or bank transfer. Then the date is yours and you get a confirmation by email. The balance is due no later than 7 days before the wedding. No hidden fees along the way.

What if we have to move or cancel?

Life happens, I understand that. More than 4 months before the wedding, you can move to a new date within 6 months of the original for free, as long as I am available. After that, a new date is a new booking and the deposit stays with me. If you cancel, the deposit is not refunded either, because the day has been set aside for you. And should I unexpectedly be prevented by serious illness, you get the full deposit back, and I help find a skilled replacement with a similar style.

When and how do we get the photos?

You get professionally edited high-resolution photos, in a curated mix of colour and black and white. They land in a private, password-protected online gallery within 8 weeks, ready to download and share with family. The images stay available for at least a month, so remember to save them locally.

Can we also get a photo album?

Yes, and it is the most beautiful way to hold the day in your hands. I make handmade lay-flat albums in velour, textile or eco-leather, with over 10 colours and a personalised cover. Prices from 4,500 kr. Smaller books are also an option. Ask me for more details.

Tell me about your day

Write a few lines about the date, the place and what you are dreaming of. I will come back with availability and an honest take on how we make it happen.

I reply personally within 3 working days
